DOVER, NH — Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. is proud to announce that it has partnered with the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center (NH SBDC) to provide free legal consulting services to eligible businesses.
This effort is part of NH SBDC’s new program, LeAF, which offers up to 5 hours of free consulting services to clients in the fields of Legal, Accounting, and Financial Advisory Services. The goal of the program is to help these businesses build a stronger foundation.
Eligible business clients must either be a Very Small Business (VSB) with fewer than ten employees or a Socially or Economically Disadvantaged (SEDI) business owner. They also must have or plan to apply for a government-backed small business loan and be a NH SBDC client.
“The NH SBDC is a wonderful resource for New Hampshire’s business community,” says Sean O’Connell, Chair of the Business Law Group at Shaheen & Gordon. “We’re thrilled to participate in the LeAF program and offer essential support to these clients. Our firm has long been committed to fostering the success and growth of local businesses as key drivers of our state’s economy.”
Through LeAF, Shaheen & Gordon business lawyers can provide services including business entity formation guidance, contract drafting and review, corporate governance advice, and lease or loan agreement reviews. The program launched was announced publicly on January 8, 2025, but Shaheen & Gordon has already assisted several clients as part of the internal launch.
“Every one of our clients should have an attorney, and many do not. The Leaf Program moves us in the right direction,” says Hollis McGuire, Business Advisor with SBDC. “Shaheen & Gordon understands small businesses are an important part of a vibrant and stable community and ecosystem.” To learn more and apply, visit https://www.nhsbdc.org/leaf.
