We are proud to announce the addition of Attorney Jay Buckey to our civil litigation practice group. Jay brings more than a decade of trial experience to the firm’s Concord office.
As a civil litigator, Jay works with clients on a variety of civil matters from representation of individual clients to complex commercial disputes. This includes representing clients in Superior Court and Federal District Court. He joins one of the most experienced litigation groups in the state, responsible for a record-breaking $275 million jury verdict in a defamation suit.
Prior to joining Shaheen & Gordon, Jay worked at the New Hampshire Public Defender, where he served as a managing attorney. In addition to overseeing the office and mentoring other attorneys and staff, he maintained a full caseload of cases ranging from driving offenses to serious felonies.
“Jay is a wonderful addition to our team,” says William Christie, Chair of the firm’s litigation practice group. “As a former public defender, he’s closely familiar with the New Hampshire court system and will be a great asset to our clients who are navigating it.”
Jay has also served as an adjunct professor at Vermont Law School teaching criminal law.
