Maria Schutte (Hyde) is a member of Shaheen & Gordon’s business law and litigation groups. She represents individual and business clients in a range of civil, commercial, and criminal matters in state and federal court.
Maria has extensive courtroom experience, including oral advocacy, strategic motion practice, and jury trials. She applies a client-centered philosophy where she prioritizes clients’ specific goals by working diligently and collaboratively with these goals in mind. She also embraces challenges and advocates for her clients with energy and enthusiasm.
Prior to joining Shaheen & Gordon, Maria gained valuable civil litigation experience at a Missouri law firm where she practiced in both metropolitan St. Louis and southern Illinois courts. Before that, she served as a public defender in New Hampshire and Missouri, managing a high caseload of felonies, misdemeanors, parole violations, and juvenile matters, where she protected and defended her clients’ rights and dignity throughout adversarial criminal proceedings.
The privilege of practicing in different regions has afforded Maria a broader perspective of litigation styles and approaches. Her competitive spirit, coupled with her client-focused approach, provides her clients with confident and meaningful representation.
